1970, Weigle, J.M. and Webb, W.E.
Basic Data Report 4
Introduction
This report presents, primarily, hitherto unpublished basic data collected as part of a study of water resources in southern Maryland by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Maryland Geological Survey. It is a companion piece to an interpretive report based on these data (Weigle, Webb, and Gardner, 1970). The data have been prepared for release in order both to support the interpretive report and to make available to the public basic water information useful in planning water-resources development.
Included in the area investigated are Calvert, Charles, and St. Marys Counties - 1,044 square miles of land area limited on the east by Chesapeake Bay and on the southwest by the Potomac River. Drainage is to the Potomac and Patuxent Rivers and Chesapeake Bay.
