Hydrogeologic Assessment of the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility (DMCF) Expansion Project
October 1, 2014
The Maryland Geological Survey initiated a study of the hydrogeology beneath the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility (DMCF) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The study, funded by the Maryland Port Administration, will investigate the hydrogeologic framework (aquifer structure and water levels) to better define the flow system in the area. The study was prompted by the possibility of an expansion of the existing Cox Creek DMCF and/or expansion of the facility onto adjacent Maryland Port Administration-owned upland areas.
